The quiet act of stepping back and observing
One morning, on my daily walk, I encountered two snakes.
I stopped, watched them for a while, and then stepped back.
They were not asking for anything.
They did not need to be moved, fixed, or understood.
They simply existed.
What struck me was not the snakes, but the difference in response.
In nature, things unfold without interference.
But humans often feel the need to step in — to react, to control, to change what is already complete in itself.
I choose not to do that.
This is also how I relate to music.
It appears, and I remain with it for a while.
There is no need to decide what it should become.
Sometimes it stays.
Sometimes it passes.
What remains is simply what was there.
Listening.
Existing with it.
Feeling it.
And then, I step back.
